About Studio Konkreet
Studio Konkreet is a bespoke architectural practice based in Zagreb. Our work operates at the intersection of research and design across interior design, architecture, and urbanism, as well as other media that expand architectural thinking. We understand architecture as an educational discipline, deeply connected to sociological, psychological, and everyday aspects of life. For this reason, we approach each project with a strong sense of professional and social responsibility. Our work continuously seeks new expressions, synthesising multiple ideas into a coherent whole while exploring new meanings and interpretations of space. We place value on craft, context, and history, as well as the identity and integrity of a place. Careful attention is given to micro-location, orientation, and the real needs of users. Working within the scale of interiors, exploring materials, and developing a deeper understanding of textures have further shaped our design approach. Our experience in project management, participation in construction processes, contractor selection, and the responsibility of translating ideas from drawings into built reality have elevated the organisation and execution of our projects to a higher level of precision.

Anita Elez
The studio was founded in 2019 in Zagreb and operates throughout Croatia across projects of different scales and typologies. It is led by Anita Elez, a licensed architect with more than a decade of experience in architectural design and project leadership. Her work is defined by a clear conceptual approach, strong spatial thinking, and a commitment to integrating new technologies into design process and the built environment. She places particular emphasis on multidisciplinary collaboration, bringing together diverse expertise to deliver thoughtful and precise architectural solutions. Anita graduated from the Faculty of Architecture in Zagreb, gaining practical experience in both Croatia and Switzerland during her studies. Following graduation, she worked in Croatian architectural practices on projects ranging from several hundred to several thousand square metres, while also collaborating with international teams.

We communicate with our clients clearly and precisely, using language that is direct and understandable. Trust is built through open dialogue and a deep understanding of real needs. Our experience with large-scale projects, where every detail matters allows us to bring the same level of care and precision to projects of smaller scale. In these projects, particular attention is given to details that may not always be illustrated but are clearly felt in the experience of space. Architecture is a service profession, yet the responsibility we assume is multilayered: creative, technical, legal, and human. Through interdisciplinary collaboration with trusted external experts, we ensure reliability, clarity, and quality throughout every stage of a project. Each project is an opportunity to create new value. Inspiration comes from the context and history of the site, as well as from contemporary technologies, materials, and the regulatory frameworks that shape the built environment. For us, the essential tools of architecture are proportion, material, and spatial experience. Our aim is to move subtly beyond convention, creating spaces that preserve comfort while offering a new architectural experience. We do not approach space through style alone, but through the senses.
