G16, our co-working space
In 2023, I relocated Studio Konkreet to a new address, Gundulićeva 16 in Zagreb. Since then, the studio has been based within G16Office, a co-working space that I founded with the aim of bringing together professionals from different fields. The idea for the co-working space emerged quite spontaneously while I was renovating an apartment for the owners of this property. During a meeting in a café, the owner mentioned that the apartment on Gundulićeva Street had recently become available and that they would like to rent it out as an office space. We quickly realised that the space had the potential to become something more and that conversation became the starting point for G16Office.
The co-working space consists of an entrance area with a cloakroom, shared sanitary facilities, and a kitchenette. From this central area, three workspaces of different sizes and configurations are accessible. The largest room contains four generous workstations (desks measuring 270 × 70 cm), a meeting table, and a screen for presentations.
A smaller room includes two workstations (170 × 70 cm) and a built-in storage unit. The third room provides two workstations with the possibility of adding a third if needed. This space also includes its own bathroom, storage room, and a built-in wardrobe that can serve as an archive or a personal storage space . The apartment originally contained only built-in furniture, so I furnished the workspace with desks and furniture pieces according to my own vision. The desks were designed by me and produced with the help of local craftsmen, a metalworker and a carpenter.
The desks are intentionally large in relation to the size of the rooms. I believe that small desks can restrict creativity. A generous work surface allows people to surround themselves with objects, tools, and materials that inspire their work. What truly completes the space, however, are the people who work there and the projects they bring along. Over time, the space will continue to evolve with additional details that reflect my own work and design approach. Today, G16Office is used by professionals from a variety of industries - from creative and marketing professionals to sales specialists and lawyers.
What they all share is the need for cooperation and mutual understanding. In a co-working environment, agreement and respect are essential, as everyone shares the same space rather than working in a private office.
Our co-working space is intentionally different from the more corporate models commonly found on the market. G16Office is designed to be comfortable, spacious, and representative - a place where work and creativity can unfold naturally.
